The December 1995 Parents List

If you wish to subscribe, send email to dec95-subscribe@egroups.com. You can also visit the list's page at eGroups, http://www.egroups.com/group/dec95, and subscribe there. Members have access to a message archive at eGroups, which goes back just to late May 2000 when we moved the list to eGroups.

If you wish to unsubscribe, visit the list's page at eGroups, http://www.egroups.com/group/dec95, or send email to dec95-unsubscribe@egroups.com.

Once you are subscribed, you can post to the list by simply sending your email message to dec95@egroups.com; your message will be posted to the list automatically.

You may receive the day's emails in a daily digest, as individual emails, or read them on the Web at eGroups. To change your settings, visit the list's page at eGroups, http://www.egroups.com/group/dec95.

The group asks that you send an introduction to the list as one of your first messages. This helps us get to know each other. Of course, it is optional.

Anything relating to your Dec '95 child and family is "on topic" and there are no banned topics. There are several topics which can ignite heated debates, so please remember the following:

  • Please read all messages in a thread before responding.
  • If something posted sets you off, try to cool off before posting and then respond the way you would want to be responded to.
  • Please respect others' opinions. We are not here to agree on everything.
  • Flaming and personal attacks of any kind will not be tolerated. If this can't be avoided, then take it off the list and into private email.
  • If you find yourself addressing one person in a reply to the list, perhaps think twice about posting to the list. Ask yourself: is it better to post privately to that person?
  • It's fine to agree or disagree with a poster's content; just be aware of the tone your post may convey, and avoid personal attacks.
  • Please try to quote or summarize only applicable text to cut down on parts of the same messages getting posted over and over.
In addition, we want to emphasize that we all have the same common goal which is to do the best for our child(ren). We may have different ways of doing things but these differences are what make this list such a wonderful learning resource.

If you have any problems with the Dec95 list, feel free to email the list moderators

Other birth-month lists

Nowadays there are birth-month lists all over the Internet now. Try parentingplace.com, babycenter.com, eGroups.com, and of course the list of lists, Liszt.com.

Other parenting lists

Just4moms: a moms-only list

Just4moms is a list for discussion about and support for motherhood. We spun off from a mailing list called Younger Moms; once over age 25 we felt we needed a place for ourselves to call home, so there is no age restriction for this list. Everyone female is welcome, but no men, please, due to the nature of the topics discussed... it's Just For Moms.

To subscribe, send email to majordomo@doleh.com with the message text "subscribe just4moms your-email-address" or "subscribe just4moms-digest your-email-address" -- you only need to include your email address if you're sending the email from an address different from the email address you want to subscribe with.

Parent-L: an attachment parenting list

Parent-L is a list which focuses on extended breastfeeding and attachment parenting. If this type of thing interests you and you can handle a large volume of messages, send email to majordomo@uts.edu.au with the message text "subscribe parent-l-digest" or "subscribe parent-l" (if you want single posts)

If you have questions or need help, email Lois Patterson (lois@helix.net)

They provide a forum for mothers to discuss the many issues relating to mothering and owning a business, including the technical side of setting up and operating a business, effective promotion and marketing, and issues of parenting unique to self-employed moms.
