Temperatures

Very low oven = 250-275F = 121-133C
Low oven = 300-325F = 149-163C
Moderate oven = 350-375F = 177-190C
Hot oven = 400-425F = 204-218C
Very hot oven = 450-475F = 232-246C

Coldest area of freezer = -10F = -23C
Water freezes = 32 F = 0 C

Water simmers = 115F = 46C
Water scalds = 130F = 54C
Water boils (sea level) = 212F = 100C

Soft ball = 234F = 112C
Firm ball = 244F = 117C
Hard ball = 250F = 121C

To convert Fahrenheit into Centigrade/Celsius, subtract 32, multiply by 5 divide by 9.

To convert Centigrade/Celsius into Fahrenheit, go into reverse: multiply by 9, divide by 5, add 32.

Barb Laufersweiler says, For a quick conversion from C to F for low temperatures (between about 0C and 30C), just double the number and add 30.
